my fascination with paper began 24 years ago. the textures,
patterns, colors and forms offound papers have been my palette
for the creation of my collages. the process of cutting and
pasting each piece of paper is meditative. the endless possibilities
of color connections and suggested images motivate me to spend
hours manipulating these tiny pieces. in past works, my subject
matter has revolved around beach scenes where the brilliant
colors and patterns have defined a desirable place. my recent
works are focused around urban view. the chaotic arrangement
of a city environment is an inspiring image. i find the challenge
of creating these visually active places through an intricate and
random placement of paper is addictive. i like to describe my
work as organized chaos.
