melanie parke
melanie parke was born in indianapolis, indiana, attended brebeuf
jesuit preparatory school and on a merit scholarship, the herron school
of art. she received her bfa from the art institute of chicago with a
national leadership award. a recipient of several professional
residencies including oxbow summer school, dorland mountain colony,
yosemite, and sleeping bear dunes, she has also been instrumental in
establishing artist in residence programs in six national parks. her
paintings have been exhibited at the bowery gallery in new york,
freeport museum of art, midland center for the arts, muskegon museum of
art, and are in the collections of the united states department of the
interior.
