mark bailey

as a young artist i am still trying to figure out how i paint, why
i paint, and what i want to paint. part of me believes these may
never be answered, and maybe the search for these answers is
in fact what will keep me creating. i find beauty in everything
around me and am often inspired by everyday life, the people,
and the things around me. currently light and color tend to drive
me the most, and i will often paint dramatically lit settings
focusing on the ambience or atmosphere of the place or memory.
i also have a desire to create a nice balance between abstract,
representational, and design in my work, and although my work is
representational i try to incorporate the others whenever and
wherever i can. painting continues to be a process of experimenting
and learning for me, the possibilities seem to go on forever,
and this makes me very excited for what the future has in store
for my work.
