visual art is a language and print making is the form of ideas,
which come from my awareness of a fundamental theme in nature
and my experience in the context of nature.
with these beliefs in mind, I develop my work andI hope to engage
peopleand invite them to embark on a metaphysical journey.
i use a japanese woodblock printing method developed over two
hundredyears ago during the ukiyoe period in japan.
i enjoy the surface quality the wood grain provides as well as
the luminous layers of color which japanese paper allows.
i also understand the importance of keeping the traditional
japanese woodblock printing method alive for future generations.
